Meeting with Sheikh Osman Ibrahim Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Theology at Mogadishu University, and faculty members, President of Turkey’s Religious Affairs Directorate (Diyanet) Mehmet Görmez announced, “This year, our proxy sacrifice campaign will focus primarily on Africa, especially Somalia.”
At a press conference about the donations collected through campaigns organized for Africa, Görmez noted that the Turkish people have shown great interest in the “One Fitra, One Zakat from Every Home to Africa” and “Let Somalia Celebrate Eid” campaigns.
