As part of a cooperation agreement between the Turkish Ministry of Justice’s General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses and the Somali Prisons Service, two prisoner transport vehicles were officially handed over to Somalia.
The handover ceremony took place at the Sincan Penal Institution and was attended by Turkish Deputy Minister of Justice Bilal Uçar, Somali Ambassador to Türkiye Abdullahi Mohamed, the embassy’s Undersecretary Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, and General Director of Prisons and Detention Houses Enis Yavuz Yıldırım.
The donation aims to strengthen Somalia’s correctional system and reflects Türkiye’s continued support in building institutional capacity within Somali public services.
