Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu to protest the coup attempt by the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), in a rally attended by Somali politicians and religious leaders.
Participants filled the streets in a show of solidarity with Türkiye, chanting slogans such as “Yes to legitimacy, no to coup,” while waving Turkish flags and carrying posters of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The demonstration highlighted the Somali public’s strong support for the Turkish government following the failed coup attempt, with speakers at the event denouncing all forms of anti-democratic intervention.
