A humanitarian aid ship loaded with 3,000 tons of relief supplies prepared by Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) has set sail from Mersin International Port for Somalia.
The vessel, named the “Ship of Kindness”, was sent off with a ceremony attended by officials and aid workers. The shipment aims to support the Somali people as they continue to struggle with food insecurity and severe drought conditions.
The cargo includes essential food supplies, medical materials, hygiene products, and other humanitarian items. It was prepared with the contributions of Turkish citizens and various NGOs in coordination with AFAD.
This aid effort reflects Türkiye’s ongoing commitment to supporting the people of Somalia during times of crisis, reinforcing the strong humanitarian and diplomatic ties between the two nations.
