During Prime Minister Erdoğan’s visit to Somalia, a Turkish Airlines (THY) plane carrying his accompanying delegation narrowly avoided a collision with four dogs that suddenly ran onto the runway while landing at Mogadishu Airport.

As the THY aircraft named “Ordu” was about to touch down, the captain saw the dogs and veered the plane to the right to avoid hitting them. In doing so, the plane’s right wing struck the branches of trees near the runway, causing damage. Among the passengers was Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, president of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).
