A United Nations (UN) political office was officially opened in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu. The inaugural meeting took place at the Presidential Palace and was attended by Turkey’s Ambassador to Mogadishu, Cemalettin Kani Torun (far right 2), who also held talks with Somali President Sheikh Sharif Ahmed.
Following this, Augustin Mahiga, the UN Special Representative for Somalia (far right 3), held a press conference with Somali Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohammed Ali Gaas at the newly opened UN political office within the same complex.
