Ankara, May 5, 2013 (Anadolu Agency – Meltem Yılmaz) — Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Cemil Çiçek has introduced a unique diplomatic gesture by presenting commemorative stamps to visiting parliamentary leaders.

The special stamps feature portraits of both Speaker Çiçek and his guest. The first of these commemorative stamps was presented in April to Hasan Bozer, Speaker of the Assembly of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), during his official visit. Shortly afterward, a similar stamp was gifted to Mohamed Osman Jawari, Speaker of the Federal Parliament of Somalia.

The initiative has been welcomed as a symbolic expression of mutual respect and international parliamentary friendship.
