President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is on an official visit to Somalia, was welcomed with a formal ceremony by Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud at Aden Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu.
First Lady Emine Erdoğan and Qamar Omar Ali, the wife of the Somali President, were also present at the welcoming ceremony.
Somalia holds a significant place in Türkiye’s Africa policy, especially since President Erdoğan’s historic visit in 2011. Since then, Türkiye’s people-centered aid initiatives have played a crucial role in driving tangible progress in the country.
