The Turkish Red Crescent (Türk Kızılay) and the Somali Ministry of Justice have signed a protocol aimed at continuing sewing workshops for female inmates at Mogadishu Central Prison and enhancing their reintegration into society.

The signing ceremony was preceded by a meeting attended by Türkiye’s Ambassador to Mogadishu, Mehmet Yılmaz, Turkish Red Crescent President Kerem Kınık, and Somali Minister of Justice Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur. The officials discussed the importance of vocational training and social rehabilitation programs for inmates.

The initiative seeks to empower incarcerated women through skill-building activities and prepare them for life after prison, promoting dignity, independence, and social inclusion.
