The people of Somalia took to the streets of the capital, Mogadishu, to celebrate the re-election of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, following the provisional results announced by Türkiye’s Supreme Election Council.
Waving Turkish flags and holding up photos of President Erdoğan, Somalis gathered in large numbers to express their joy and support. The celebrations highlighted the strong bond between Somalia and Türkiye, reflecting Erdoğan’s enduring popularity and Türkiye’s longstanding engagement in the Horn of Africa nation.
