Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar attended the welcoming ceremony of the Oruç Reis Seismic Research Vessel at Mogadishu Port.
The ceremony also saw the participation of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, marking a significant moment in the deepening cooperation between Türkiye and Somalia in the field of energy exploration.
The Oruç Reis vessel arrived as part of the bilateral agreements signed between the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the Somali Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, paving the way for hydrocarbon exploration in Somali waters and onshore regions.
Both officials emphasized the importance of the collaboration in contributing to Somalia’s energy independence and regional development.
