Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, held a meeting with Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre during his visit to Mogadishu to attend the welcoming ceremony of the Oruç Reis seismic research vessel at Mogadishu Port.
The meeting focused on the deepening cooperation between Türkiye and Somalia in the fields of energy and natural resources, particularly in light of the recently signed agreements on hydrocarbon exploration both offshore and onshore.
Minister Bayraktar emphasized Türkiye’s commitment to supporting Somalia’s energy infrastructure development and strengthening bilateral ties through strategic energy collaboration.
Prime Minister Barre expressed gratitude for Türkiye’s ongoing support and highlighted the importance of the partnership in fostering Somalia’s economic progress and self-sufficiency in energy.
