The Turkish Airlines (THY) plane carrying the delegation accompanying Prime Minister Erdoğan on his visit to Somalia narrowly avoided a collision with four dogs that ran onto the runway during landing at Mogadishu Airport. Due to damage sustained by the Boeing 737-800 aircraft, it remained at Mogadishu Airport.
To pick up the passengers—including members of parliament, artists, and journalists—THY dispatched an Airbus A340 named “Mersin” from Atatürk Airport to Somalia.
