Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, accompanied by his wife Emine Erdoğan, concluded his engagements in Somalia and departed for Turkey. Somali President Ahmed bid him farewell with an official ceremony at Mogadishu Airport.

Somalia, grappling with the worst famine and drought in the past 60 years, has seen countless babies endure grueling journeys lasting days to reach refugee camps. Many arrive exhausted and on the brink of death after walking for kilometers without food or water.

Yesterday, during the visit by Prime Minister Erdoğan and Emine Erdoğan to the camp hospital run by the Kimse Yok Mu Association, two of the infants they encountered, pictured on the left, tragically lost their lives. Despite efforts to rush the severely dehydrated babies to the hospital on Erdoğan’s orders, they died on the way.
