Amid severe drought conditions affecting central and southern Somalia, thousands of people are facing hunger and the threat of infectious diseases. The Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) has stepped in to deliver critical water and food aid to families struggling to survive in camps across the Bay region.
Due to ongoing conflict and terrorism, many Somalis have traveled hundreds of kilometers on foot to reach camps in Bay province. These displaced individuals are now receiving treatment at the Bay Regional Hospital for illnesses linked to cholera, diarrhea, and severe malnutrition.
In response to the worsening crisis, IHH launched a relief operation focused on providing clean water to thousands of families affected by the drought. The aid aims to reduce the impact of waterborne diseases and support those enduring dire living conditions in the camps.
IHH continues to play a vital role in supporting Somali communities by addressing both immediate humanitarian needs and long-term development challenges caused by drought and instability.
