Through the efforts of Türkiye’s Consulate General in Chicago and in collaboration with the Yunus Emre Institute and the Turkish-Somali American Friendship Foundation, a group of Somali-American Muslim youth from Minnesota visited Eskişehir, Türkiye.
As part of their cultural exchange tour aimed at strengthening people-to-people ties between Türkiye and the United States, and fostering a deeper connection to Islamic heritage, the group explored historical sites and enjoyed traditional Turkish cuisine.
After visiting Istanbul and Bursa, the group was welcomed in Eskişehir by AK Party Member of Parliament Emine Nur Günay. The program also aimed to enhance the cultural identity and self-confidence of Somali-American youth by connecting them with one of the core centers of Islamic civilization—Türkiye.
