The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), in collaboration with the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), and the health ministries of Türkiye and Sudan, organized the third phase of a regional health training program in Somalia.

The initiative, designed for member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), brought together health professionals from 12 different OIC countries. The training aimed to enhance medical knowledge and capacity in critical areas of public health, while strengthening cooperation among Islamic countries in the health sector.

The sessions focused on sharing best practices, building institutional capacity, and improving the quality of health services through regional expertise and collaboration. The event further underscored Türkiye’s commitment to supporting sustainable health development and capacity-building across OIC member nations, particularly in regions facing fragile healthcare infrastructures.
