An international symposium titled “Reevaluating the Last 10 Years of Türkiye–Somalia Relations” was jointly organized by the Africa Foundation and the Somali Heritage Institute for Policy Studies.

The event brought together policymakers, academics, and researchers to assess the progress, challenges, and future direction of the Türkiye–Somalia partnership.

Somalia’s Minister of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development, Gamal Mohamed Hassan, delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the strategic significance of bilateral ties and the positive impact of Türkiye’s development-oriented contributions in Somalia over the past decade.

From Türkiye, expert on Horn of Africa Ebuzer Demirci participated in the symposium, offering insights into Türkiye’s foreign policy approach and development cooperation with Somalia.

The symposium aimed to deepen academic and policy-level dialogue while highlighting the mutual benefits of strengthened cooperation between the two nations.
