Two Turkish humanitarian organizations have partnered to deliver free medical services and perform life-saving surgeries in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
According to a statement released Friday by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), in collaboration with Doctors Worldwide Türkiye, a total of 353 patients were examined and 74 surgeries were successfully performed at the Mogadishu health center operated by the Turkish medical NGO.
A health worker from Doctors Worldwide Türkiye was photographed attending to a patient at the facility, underscoring the ongoing humanitarian support provided by Turkish organizations in Somalia.
The initiative reflects Türkiye’s continued commitment to healthcare development and humanitarian aid in Somalia, where access to quality medical services remains limited for many residents. The project builds on a long-standing relationship between the two countries and aims to strengthen Somalia’s healthcare infrastructure through both service delivery and capacity building.
