Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud visited Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, during his official visit to Türkiye.
President Mohamud walked along the Lion Road (Aslanlı Yol) to the mausoleum, where he laid a wreath at Atatürk’s tomb and observed a moment of silence in honor of the founder of the Republic of Türkiye.
He was accompanied by Türkiye’s Minister of National Education, Mahmut Özer, during the solemn visit. The tribute underscored the respect and solidarity between Türkiye and Somalia, reinforcing the historical and growing ties between the two nations.
