Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM), Numan Kurtulmuş, met with Somali Senate President Abdi Hashi on the sidelines of the 5th Conference of the Parliamentary Union for Al-Quds held in Istanbul.
During their meeting, the two leaders discussed bilateral parliamentary cooperation, regional developments, and the importance of strengthening solidarity on key international issues, particularly regarding the Palestinian cause.
Speaker Kurtulmuş expressed Türkiye’s commitment to supporting Somalia in its development journey and reaffirmed the strong ties between the two nations. Somali Senate President Hashi conveyed his appreciation for Türkiye’s consistent support and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between the countries’ legislative bodies.
