Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar met with Somalia’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Abdirizak Omar Mohamed to enhance bilateral energy cooperation.

Following the meeting, Türkiye and Somalia signed a cooperation agreement in the field of hydrocarbons. The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in oil and natural gas exploration and development.

The deal was officially signed by Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) Director General Ahmet Türkoğlu and CEO of the Somali Petroleum Authority Abdulkadir Aden Mohamud.

This partnership reflects the growing ties between the two nations and is expected to contribute significantly to Somalia’s efforts in utilizing its energy resources for economic development.
