A humanitarian aid vessel named the “İyilik Gemisi” (Ship of Kindness), carrying 3,000 tons of essential supplies, has arrived in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, to support communities struggling with hunger and poverty.
The aid shipment was organized by Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) as part of its ongoing relief efforts for the Somali people facing severe food insecurity and humanitarian challenges.
Loaded at Mersin International Port, the cargo includes food, medical supplies, hygiene products, and other basic necessities, which will be distributed to vulnerable populations across Somalia.
AFAD officials emphasized that Türkiye remains committed to standing by the Somali people and will continue to provide vital humanitarian assistance in coordination with local authorities and international partners.
