Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar and Somali Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Dahir Shire Mohamed signed a bilateral agreement for onshore hydrocarbon exploration and production between Türkiye and Somalia.
The signing ceremony took place at the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, where Minister Bayraktar delivered a speech prior to the event. He highlighted the importance of the agreement in strengthening bilateral energy cooperation and contributing to regional energy security.
“This agreement marks a significant milestone in Türkiye’s strategic energy diplomacy and reinforces our commitment to mutual development with Somalia,” Bayraktar said.
Minister Mohamed emphasized Somalia’s vast natural resource potential and expressed gratitude for Türkiye’s continued support in energy development and capacity building.
