Hassan Ali Khaire has been elected as Somalia’s new Prime Minister following a parliamentary vote held in the capital, Mogadishu.
In the session held at the People’s Assembly building, which was attended by members of both the lower and upper houses of parliament, Khaire secured 231 votes from lawmakers, officially confirming his appointment.
The vote marks another step forward in Somalia’s ongoing political stabilization efforts.
