A group of Somali police officers is undergoing counter-terrorism training at the Foça Gendarmerie Commando School and Training Center Command in Turkey. The program is part of a bilateral agreement between the Turkish Ministry of Interior and the Somali Ministry of Internal Security, coordinated by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).
The training covers critical topics such as mines, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), equipping Somali officers with essential knowledge and tactical skills to enhance security operations in their home country.
This initiative reflects Türkiye’s ongoing support for Somalia’s capacity-building efforts in the field of security and law enforcement, as part of the broader strategic cooperation between the two nations.
