A total of 363 Somali soldiers who completed their training under the Turkish Armed Forces at the Somali Turkish Task Force Command (STGK) in Mogadishu have officially graduated.

A ceremony was held at the STGK headquarters in the Somali capital, where the soldiers were honored for completing their rigorous military training. The graduates are set to join the Somali Land Forces as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities.

The graduation ceremony was attended by high-level officials, including Somali Minister of Defense Hassan Ali Mohamed, who praised Türkiye’s continued support in building a professional and disciplined Somali National Army.

This training initiative is part of the comprehensive military cooperation agreement between Türkiye and Somalia, which includes the establishment of TURKSOM—Türkiye’s largest overseas military training base. The base provides structured education and field training to Somali cadets, officers, and non-commissioned officers.

The STGK has played a significant role in Somalia’s security sector reform, and Türkiye’s contributions are widely regarded as a cornerstone of the country’s efforts to stabilize and rebuild its national institutions.
