A Turkish Air Force aircraft carrying a nine-member medical team, including personnel from the National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE) and surgical staff, landed in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, to evacuate victims of a recent terrorist attack.

According to the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, the aircraft was dispatched to transport the injured to Türkiye for further treatment. Following its arrival, the wounded were successfully transferred aboard the plane under the supervision of the medical team.

Somali State Minister Abdulkadir Sheikh Ali Ibrahim and Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Hamza Said Hamza were present at Aden Adde International Airport to oversee the operation and express appreciation for Türkiye’s rapid response and humanitarian support.

The evacuation is part of Türkiye’s broader commitment to supporting Somalia in times of crisis, reinforcing the strong bilateral ties and ongoing cooperation in health, security, and development sectors.
